Lake View Terrace: Haystacks erupt in flames near 210 Freeway, prompting brief closure of WB lanes

PACOIMA, Calif. (KABC) -- Firefighters on Saturday afternoon battled massive flames after stacked bales of hay ignited near the 210 Freeway in Lake View Terrace.

No injuries were reported.

The blaze prompted the complete shutdown of all westbound lanes on the 210 near the 118 Freeway interchange shortly before 1 p.m. The interstate was fully reopened within 20 minutes.

County and city firefighters extinguished the flames shortly afterward. A civilian vehicle that previously had been parked near the bales of hay was destroyed.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
