"Not only have you saved my life, you have saved other people's lives," Farrokh said.

Since starting a GoFundMe page on April 29, Farrokh has raised over $185,000 to help pay for medical costs and treatments. Farrokh's weight was below the necessary requirements to receive treatment at certain health facilities. With the money raised, Farrokh was able to receive a "hand-picked team" that could provide the care she needed at her bedside.

Farrokh says that her recovery could take three-to-five years, but she's prepared to face the challenge.

"It's going to be a long recovery...this is a long process, and it's longer than I anticipated, but with your support I know I can do this."
