Two men arrested after Inglewood chase

The chase began after 2 a.m.
INGLEWOOD (CNS) The chase began about 2:10 a.m. at 67th Street and Marlbrough Avenue in Inglewood, said Inglewood police Sgt. Neal Cochran.

California Highway Patrol officers assisted Inglewood police in the pursuit, during which the driver of the suspect vehicle reached high speeds and drove erratically, Cochran said.

The pursuit ended on the Long Beach (710) Freeway at Imperial Highway in Lynwood about 3:30 a.m. when a California Highway Patrol officer used the PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle, he said.

The two men were taken into custody without further incident, he said.

It was unclear what prompted police to attempt to stop the vehicle initially, Cochran explained, but he added the men may have been involved in a shooting.

The suspects' names were not immediately released.
