May 4, 2008 12:00:00 AM PDT
An explosion damaged the entrance to the federal courthouse in downtown San Diego in the predawn hours today and resulted in the postponement of tomorrow's scheduled court hearings.Investigators believe a pipe bomb may have gone off at the Edward J. Schwartz Courthouse at about 1:40 a.m.

The explosion damaged the building's front door and the lobby area.

The FBI says no one has claimed responsibility for the explosion.

The courthouse will be closed Monday.
