UN asked to investigate Bhutto's killing

Bhutto died in an attack in December 2007
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan Bhutto died in a gun-and-suicide bomb attack in December as she left an election rally in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi.

Her party leads the two-month-old coalition government and says the possible involvement of international terrorists means the U.N. should investigate.

A ministry spokesman says Pakistan's ambassador to the U.N. handed the written request to the world body's secretary-general Ban Ki-moon in New York on Friday.

The previous government and the CIA accused a Taliban commander of the killing.
