Chief of Police holds town hall meeting

RIVERSIDE, Calif. The Summit will be held on Tursday, Sept. 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Arlington High School. The high school is located at 2951 Jackson Street.

Chief's Community-Police Partnership Summit is a town hall meeting to brief the community on progress through the Strategic Plan 2004-2009 period, and to hear input and answer questions from members of the public. A city-wide meeting, held February 20, met with positive response by those in attendance. The first neighborhood summit was held in NPC West on June 11.

"The community had thoughtful questions and comments when we reported on our Strategic Plan. We want to receive feedback on how we've been doing, in each of our NPC areas," Chief Leach said. All Central area (portions of City Council Wards 3, 4 and 5) residents are invited to attend. NPC Central Area Commander, Lt. Bruce Loftus, will host.

The Chief will introduce the current Command Staff, the 2007 Chief's Report published last year, present an update on the Strategic Plan and innovative programs RPD has undertaken, and he will take comments and questions from the public.

"This meeting also provides an opportunity to meet with people and talk about public safety issues important to them, close to home," Chief Leach said.
