Riverside seeks neighborhood leaders

RIVERSIDE, Calif. The annual Neighborhood Leadership Academy is an opportunity for 30 residents who are actively involved in a neighborhood organization, such as the PTA or a church group, to learn more about how to improve their neighborhoods.

The classes will be held on eight consecutive evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. starting Sept. 18, at the Janet Goeski Center, 5257 Sierra St. The classes include sessions on communication, managing conflict, problem-solving, team-building and cultural diversity.

The cost is free and a light dinner will be provided.

Applications must be in by 5 p.m. Thursday.
