Probe into alleged LAPD misconduct

LOS ANGELES According to the /*L.A. Times*/, the investigation stems from a drug case thrown out when a videotape contradicted the officers' testimony.

The officers involved are from the gang enforcement detail. They testified /*Guillermo Alarcon*/ threw something away that they quickly picked up and found it was cocaine in 2007, but the tape showed the officers searching for the object for 20 minutes.

A judge dismissed the case.

The officers have denied any wrongdoing.
