2 marijuana dispensaries raided in L.A.

CULVER CITY, Calif. The dispensaries, one in Culver City and one in west Los Angeles, are both owned by Jeffrey Joseph. Agents also raided Joseph's home in connection with the investigation.

About a dozen law enforcement agencies participated in the investigation, including Los Angeles, Culver City, Torrance and Beverly Hills police departments, the /*Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department*/, the FBI, the IRS, and the DEA.

Authorities served a search warrant at around 11 a.m. at the /*Organica marijuana dispensary*/ at 13456 Washington Blvd. in Culver City. The Overland Gardens dispensary in West L.A. and the owner's Beverly Hills residence were also named in the warrant.

"Before I had a chance to even open the doors, the law enforcement had already busted through," said Nick Penner, an employee at Overland Gardens dispensary. "They used, I guess, sledgehammers and crowbars to get through our secured doors with locks on them. There's glass everywhere."

Both of the dispensaries have been shut down, and the owner has been arrested.

Due to the ongoing investigation, authorities have not released any further details.

Some customers at the scene said the dispensary operated in accordance with state laws.
