Coldwater Canyon is back open to drivers

September 11, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
A major street in the San Fernando Valley is finally open again a week after a water main burst and caused serious flooding.Los Angeles Department of Water and Power officials said Coldwater Canyon Avenue - a major route through the Valley and a shortcut across the Hollywood Hills - was reopened at about 8 p.m. Saturday night.

The broken main on Sept. 5 swept cars away, forced people from their homes and flooded the street with four feet of water in some places.
