Families displaced after Koreatown fire

LOS ANGELES The fire broke out in the 400 block of South Manhattan Place at 10:10 p.m. Monday.

The flames were contained to one apartment on the second floor, but other parts of the building were damaged by heavy smoke.

It took 100 firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the flames.

Residents say the firefighters ran through the building to make sure everyone was safe.

No one was injured in this fire.

Three families -- a total of 13 residents the included five children less than 9 years old -- were displaced by the fire.
