Garth Brooks is coming out of retirement

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Brooks made the announcement Thursday afternoon alongside /*Steve Wynn*/, chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts.

The 47-year-old performer had retired in 2001 to spend time raising his three young daughters.

Brooks will play an extended engagement at the Wynn Resort, putting up shows on Friday through Sunday nights.

The intimate setting of the theatre will allow Garth to do what he loves most -- be up close and personal with his fans.

Brooks is married to fellow country singer /*Trisha Yearwood*/.
