Samaritan sought for info in OC death

ANAHEIM, Calif. Police say 75-year-old Mary Bowman was found on the floor of her condominium by her daughter on September 16, 2009. Bowman lived on the 1700 block of West Cerritos Avenue.

Bowman was taken to the hospital with head trauma. She died a few days later. An autopsy failed to determine the exact cause of death.

Detectives have been tracking the final hours of Bowman's life. They believe that on Wednesday, September 16, Bowman was doing some errands. At 3 p.m. she went to the bank. Shortly thereafter, she went to a supermarket near Brookhurst Street and Orange Avenue.

Police are searching for a man who may be able to shed light on the mysterious death of an Anaheim woman.

The man was seen on surveillance tape and police believe he may be a Good Samaritan who helped the woman. Police think the man can help with the case. The man is not considered a suspect.

Police believe Bowman got a flat tire. Just prior to 4 p.m. a man entered an auto parts store at Brookhurst Street and Ball Road and made a purchase of a tire-repair liquid for Bowman.

Detectives do not know what took place afterward. Police want to talk to the man who purchased the tire-repair liquid. Police say he appears to be a Caucasian male, possibly in his 60s, who wears glasses.

Anyone with information should call Anaheim detectives at (714) 765-1944.
