Staples theft suspect had credential

LOS ANGELES They say the suspect appeared to be a man in his 40's, who wore a suit, carried a clipboard, and had some kind of credential to gain access to the building.

The theft happened during halftime of the game between the Clippers and the Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, an Israeli basketball team. "The suspect took in excess of $15,000 in U.S. currency and in excess of $7,000 worth of watches and other jewelry from 10 members of the Maccabi team," Lt. Albert Gavin of the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Station said.

The police department didn't learn of the theft until after the game was over last Tuesday night. So far, no arrests have been made in the case.
