LOS ANGELES

Local health officials are warning the public and food retailers to be cautious. So far, 187 people in 38 states have gotten sick. Thirty of those cases were reported in California, including six from L.A. County.

The exact source of the outbreak has not yet been identified, but a Rhode Island-based company has voluntarily recalled the product while it conducts further testing.
