Loved ones of Norman Schureman gathered at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design to remember the late professor.
The husband and father of two sons was shot to death last week during a scuffle at a Persian New Year's party in Westlake Village.
His sister is one of many who spoke at the memorial.
"After his love for his family and friends, Norman's great passion and love was for his students and colleagues at Arts Center. In fact, when he called me a few weeks ago, that's exactly what he talked to me about, how much he loved teaching," said Schureman's sister, Susan Nichols.
The school is establishing a scholarship in Schureman's name in order to honor him and his legacy of teaching others.
