19-year-old shoots at occupied car, arrested

MEINERS OAKS, Calif. Jason McCoy was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility, with bail set for $50,000.

Sunday around 1 a.m., Ventura County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 100 block of Padre Juan in the Meiners Oaks area of Ventura County after receiving alerts that shots were fired.

Investigators found several witnesses, broken glass and spent shotgun shells in the street.

They determined there was a physical altercation in the front yard of McCoy's residence between McCoy and two men, who got in a vehicle to leave.

Investigators say McCoy armed himself with a shotgun and fired several rounds as the vehicle drove away.

The occupants, Charles Jerviss, 25, and Jonathan Jerviss, 20, of Oak View were not injured.
