Biggie Smalls wrongful death suit dismissed

LOS ANGELES Notorious B.I.G., whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was gunned down in 1997 after leaving a late-night party in L.A.

No one has been arrested for the murder.

The lawsuit was first filed in 2002. It was dismissed without prejudice earlier this month. That means it could be refiled later.

An attorney for the estate says the move could give authorities time to investigate the murder.

The lawsuit named several former LAPD officers and Death Row Records founder Suge Knight in connection with the killing.
