Robbery suspect hits 2 banks in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif. Police said the suspect walked into a /*Wells Fargo*/ on Thompson Boulevard and demanded the keys to the secured vault area. When employees refused to cooperate, police say he roughed up two of them and ran off.

About 10 minutes later, he showed up at a /*Pacific Western Bank*/ on South Mills Road. He reached across the counter and stole the money from the teller's drawer and then took off.

Police say the suspect is potentially the "lady bandit," who is responsible for several robberies in Ventura County over the years. Anyone with information is urged to call the FBI or crime stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
