CHP officials say citizens often believe they are simply another arm of the police. Today's meeting was dedicated to teaching Korean Americans about the CHP's special role in promoting community safety.

Officers explained the CHP's role in fighting drunk driving and promoting awareness about children's safety car seats.

The meeting wasn't just about business. The crowd was treated to a special performance of Korean music and dance. A CHP officer also gave a demonstration of how K-9 units worked to catch suspects.
