Big rig catches fire, burns Gorman hillside

GORMAN, Calif. The fire started along the southbound side of Interstate 5 at Frasier Mountain Parkway, when a big rig caught fire. The flames spread to the nearby brush and then moved uphill.

Ground and air crews from Los Angeles and Kern Counties moved quickly, putting out the hot spots in less than an hour. About 25 acres were scorched. Traffic was not affected.
