L.A. deputies shoot man at mobile-home park

CANYON COUNTRY, Calif. Authorities responded to a domestic disturbance and possible suicide call at the /*Parklane Estates Mobile Home Park*/ on the 20000 block of Soledad Canyon just before 3 a.m.

Neighbors said they heard a lot of commotion outside a mobile home, saying the suspect was on his motorcycle revving his engine, so they called police to the scene.

Deputies said when they arrived, they encountered a man who they believed was armed, and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was shot once. He was rushed to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Deputies said they thought the man was armed, but they have not recovered a gun at the scene.

One neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, said the suspect lives with his mother and often raced his motorcycle through the mobile-home park. He also said the man would yell at his mother a lot.

The shooting continues to be investigated. No further information is available at this time.
