Employees sue SoCal Edison for racial bias

LOS ANGELES The suit claims there's a "racially hostile" work environment at the utility. It claims few blacks are able to make their way into management.

The suit also alleges pay and work assignment disparity between blacks and whites.

Charles Mathews, the attorney for the plaintiffs, said blacks are second class citizens at /*Edison*/.

A spokesperson for the utility declined to comment on the suit, saying the utility doesn't comment on pending litigation.

Edison has more than 17,000 employees.
