Study says weekend sleep is good for brain

Researchers at the /*University of Pennsylvania*/ say an extra hour or two of sleep in the morning after chronic sleep loss during the week has real benefits.

They say the extra sleep helps replenish the brain and boost energy, alertness and attention after a week of restricted sleep.

Research shows sleep deprivation is associated with poor performance, shortened attention span, impaired alertness and reduced reaction time.

In the study, normal brain functions were restored after a subject had just one full night of sleep
