OC hospital sued for giving baby morphine

SANTA ANA, Calif. In April 2009 Jessica Blischke delivered triplets prematurely at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo. Blischke was being treated for pain with morphine but the hospital allegedly accidentally administered the morphine to one of Blischke's newborns, Taylee, instead of her.

Investigators said the IVs had been mixed up.

Taylee survived and was sent home in good condition.

State health officials have already fined Mission Hospital $50,000. Mediation in the lawsuit has been scheduled for the end of August.
