Fullerton to crack down on sex offenders

Fullerton is cracking down on sex offenders. The city council voted unanimously to allow police to fine, prosecute and jail registered sex offenders who try to move within 2,000 feet of parks or schools.

Violators could be fined as much as $1,000 and sentenced to six months in jail.

The move comes after a local family who lives near Laguna Lake Park garnered brought awareness to a possible loophole in Jessica's Law that could have allowed a registered sex offender to move into the neighborhood after inheriting his parents' home.
