Man thrown from boat, dies in Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA, Calif. The coroner's office said 52-year-old Lewis Anderson of Anaheim had a heart attack while attempting to swim ashore and later died at the hospital.

The other fisherman on board who also fell off the boat suffered hypothermia and was rushed to the hospital. His name was not released. His condition is not known at this time.

Apparently, the boat broke anchor around 8:30 p.m. The fisherman then lost control of their boat and were thrown into the chilly water.

Both the boat and the two men washed ashore just north of the /*Santa Monica Pier*/.
