The Garden Grove megachurch filed for bankruptcy last month after cancelling its Easter and Christmas pageants, both costly events.
The lawyer says talks are underway but no decision has been made on when or if the pageant will be held.
The cathedral is also being investigated by the U.S. Trustee, which oversees bankruptcy proceedings, for potential overspending on three employees.
