'Empire Strikes Back' director dies at 87

Irvin Kershner, the director of the "Star Wars" sequel "Empire Strikes Back" has died, says his agent. He was 87 years old.

Agent Derek Maki told The Associated Press in an e-mail on Monday that the director died over the weekend. No further details were provided

Kershner was also known for directing the 1983 James Bond movie, "Never Say Never Again."
