Couple robs LA jewelry store at gunpoint

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES Detectives said the pair entered Diamano Fine Jewelry, a small store in the 400 block of West Seventh Street, and forced the jewelers to kneel at gunpoint on Dec. 14.

The woman was holding zip ties for tying hands and barked orders, but never tied the victims' hands.

Police say the man appeared to be the brawn, while the woman seemed to be the brains behind the heist.

No one was hurt. The robbers escaped with $8,000 in cash.

The male suspect was described as black but may be of Hispanic origin, 6-feet tall, and 35 to 40 years old. He was wearing thick reading glasses at the time of the robbery.

The woman was described as Hispanic, about 5-feet, 5-inches tall, 150 pounds, and a similar age to her accomplice.

If you recognize the couple, you're urged to call the LAPD Central Robbery Unit at (213) 972-1248.
