Posture may impact job interview performance

January 17, 2011 12:00:00 AM PST
How you stand and sit may have an impact on how well you do at a job interview, according to researchers at Northwestern University in Illinois. The study found that undergraduates who were posed in "expansive" positions with their arms extended and one leg casually crossed over the knee, scored higher on their sense of power, abstract thinking and willingness to take action.

Those who were posed in "restricted" positions, with dropped shoulders, hands under their thighs and feet together, didn't perform as well.
