February 17, 2011 12:00:00 AM PST
Officials are searching for a man who allegedly kidnapped a 14-year-old girl from a Metro Green Line station and then tried to rape her.

The girl managed to escape. The incident happened last Saturday on the 11900 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard in Hawthorne.

"He grabs her, he places her in a small, red compact car, drives her out of the area for about 10 minutes [and] he parks in an alley," said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Dep. Aura Lidman. "He then takes the 14-year-old inside of a condominium-type complex area where he attempted to rape her."

Police released a composite sketch of the suspect. He's described as an African-American man in his mid-30s, with black hair and brown eyes. He's 6 feet tall and weighs about 300 pounds.

The suspect has tattoos, including one on his neck that reads "Lil Big Mo" and a tribal band on his right arm.

He was last seen driving a red 1990s four-door compact car.

Anyone with information was urged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department at (877) 710-LASD.
