A female resident called police to report a prowler in her back yard attempting to enter the house.

Oxnard resident Michael Gonzalez, 50, allegedly forced open a sliding-glass door at the rear of the house. The resident was instructed by the dispatch operator to leave the house through the front door. She then ran to a neighbor's house where she waited for police to arrive.

Multiple officers arrived at the residence with red lights and sirens rolling. Gonzalez was apprehended as he was leaving the residence.

Gonzalez was booked into the Ventura County Jail on burglary charges.
