Ventura police arrest bank robbery suspect

Ventura police arrested a woman who robbed a bank Thursday afternoon.

Police arrested 46-year-old Carmen Loanes from Ventura, for robbing Pacific Western Bank in the 100 block of South Chestnut Street.

They said Loanes entered the bank and demanded money from two tellers after declaring that she was robbing them while holding an unknown type object. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money.

Patrol officers responded to the silent alarm and took Loanes into custody as she was leaving the bank. This crime is being investigated by the Ventura Police Department and FBI.
