The skyrocketing price of jet fuel is prompting two major airlines to raise fares.

United and Continental Airlines are raising some U.S. airfares by $10 per round trip. So far, no other airlines have raised their prices.

Last week, United and Continental started the push for a fare increase and were joined by Delta, American and U.S. Airways. But the low-cost airlines decided not to go along and the plan collapsed.
