AZ Senate passes presidential 'birther' bill

April 13, 2011 12:00:00 AM PDT
Presidential candidates may be required to prove they are U.S. citizens before they can be on the ballot in Arizona.

The Arizona Senate has approved a first of its kind bill.

It was prompted by a group that refutes documentation that President Barack Obama was born in the U.S.

This so-called "birther" bill will go to the Arizona House for a final vote.
