Investigators said a gunman shot 50-year-old Richard McCray Jr. Friday night in the 37000 block of Laramie Street.
McCray was apparently shot as he went outside to collect his mail. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
McCray worked in real estate and lived with his elderly mother. He had two grown children and a granddaughter.
His family told Eyewitness News he had no enemies.
There was no word on a possible motive.
