The person sent a check to the county in May.
The county supervisor's office posted a photo of the actual check on the Internet, including the donor's routing number.
Authorities said within days, someone tried to withdraw money from the account.
The county said it did contact major search engines like Google and Bing to get the photo scrubbed.
But they didn't proceed because the effort to remove every instance of the photo would have been futile.
