Its main star, Al Pacino, says the film is one of his favorites, partly due to the fact that when it was first released, fans liked it but most reviewers did not.
"Nobody was fond of it, except it had good audience participation," he said. "I mean, we were surprised that it was not accepted when it first came out. We really were, but whatever they call it, it's good."
For those who are really big fans of the movie, a special Blu-ray edition of the film will be released Sept. 6. It's packaged in a limited edition cigar humidor and it'll set you back $1,000.
"Scarface" is also set to play at 475 theaters nationwide on Aug. 31 for a special one-night engagement.
