Frank Chung, 63, was arrested at his La Palma home Thursday afternoon.
The incident was reported to police on Tuesday after the victim was overheard telling one of her siblings about the inappropriate sexual contact with Chung on several occasions.
Due to his long history of working with children, investigators believe there may be more victims.
"We are currently looking at the possibility of as many as 10 more victims," said L.A. County Sheriff's Lt. Carlos Marques.
Chung worked for the Kumon Learning Center in Norwalk for five years and tutored children in Northern California for about 25 years.
