Eugenio Paredes, 62, allegedly boarded the bus in Santa Monica Saturday shortly after 6 p.m. with a suspicious-looking suitcase with exposed wires. Officials said Paredes was making threats toward the driver.
The bus was stopped near Vermont Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard in Koreatown, and the surrounding area had to be evacuated. After authorities investigated the device for about four hours, the scene was cleared.
Parades was booked on suspicion of making a terrorist threat and possessing a hoax device.
