Feds: BP engineers lied about Gulf drilling

WASHINGTON

According to the Wall Street Journal, federal prosecutors allege the engineers lied to regulators about drilling risks in the gulf.

Felony charges could be announced next year.

The oil spill resulted from a blowout and explosion on the Deepwater Horizon well in April 2010. Eleven platform workers died.

The spill is considered the worst in U.S. history.

There's no comment from BP or the Department of Justice.
