Driving while you have a cold is just as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol, according to British researchers.

The researchers found a cold can slow a driver's reaction time and limit his or her judgment and ability to concentrate.

A British insurance company attached black boxes to cars and found that excellent drivers become dangerous while suffering from a cold.

The American Auto Association says motorists suffering from a cold need to be more attentive.

Research shows drivers with colds cause 600,000 accidents a year. A safer alternative is to stay home.
