ANAHEIM, Calif.

He was given the Music for Life Award on Wednesday for his contributions to the music world.

Wilson's advice to aspiring songwriters is: if you begin writing a song, finish it.

The convention runs from Thursday through Sunday at the Anaheim Convention Center. Since it's a trade convention, it's not open to the public.
