LA residents prepare for 2nd rain system

PASADENA, Calif.

"It has been too long and I am tired of summer weather," said Valencia resident Terri Dokovna. "So it's nice to have 'winter.'"

Light showers fell on and off across the southland, making for slick roads and the usual traffic trouble. Even those used to driving in the rain were weary of road conditions, like Judy Culver, who was visiting from Portland, Ore.

"I just see cars driving like it was dry, when it fact it isn't," said Culver. "In fact, when you live with wet roads a lot, you tend to observe a few more cautionary procedures," she said.

And with the rain came cooler temperatures. While some loved the change-up, others were wondering what happened to the area's best characteristic: the sun.

"I thought it'd be a lot hotter when we got here, but it's been a bit cold, a lot colder than I thought it would be," said James Shand, who was visiting from New Zealand.

More rain was expected overnight Monday, while Angelinos gear up for another storm system expected Wednesday.
