Records proving the payments were made were introduced into Edwards' corruption trial Tuesday. The evidence shows wealthy Texas lawyer Fred Baron made regular deposits into pregnant mistress Rielle Hunter's bank account, totaling $74,000 in 2008. Baron was also a regular supporter of Edwards during his presidential campaign that same year.
Edwards has pleaded not guilty to campaign finance violations stemming from the money used to support his mistress. He faces up to 30 years in prison.
