Comcast to take 1,000 jobs out of California

September 26, 2012 12:00:00 AM PDT
Comcast is closing three customer call centers in Northern California and moving 1,000 jobs to Oregon, Washington and Colorado.

The cable provider on Tuesday cited the high cost of living and the cost of doing business in California as reasons behind its decision.

The centers in Sacramento, Livermore and Morgan Hill will shut down at the end of November.

Employees affected by the closures were given information about relocating or taking severance packages.
