Zynga shutters 11 online games, considers layoffs

December 31, 2012 12:00:00 AM PST
Online games company Zynga is discontinuing 11 games to cut its costs.

Games that weren't shut down or pulled from the app store already are no longer accepting new sign ups and will stop altogether next month.

In addition to the shutdowns, Zynga is also considering layoffs.

Zynga's share price was down Monday by more than 3 percent to $2.33 from its $10 IPO price a year ago.
