The new owners of the bankrupt assets of Hostess Brands, Inc., will open bakeries in Georgia, Kansas, Illinois and Indiana.
Hostess shut down last year after a labor union dispute. The new owners plan to hire 1,500 workers who will likely all be nonunion.
The plant in Columbus, Ga., will be the first to reopen. Hiring is set to begin this summer.
