Thomas Pecel, 30, was arrested by Thousand Oaks police detectives at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.
A university employee received a threatening email on May 1. The email indicated the sender wanted to commit a campus shooting. The email was then reported to police.
Investigators gathered evidence corroborating that Pecel sent the email.
Pecel was arrested in Ventura and booked for making criminal threats. He was held on $25,000 bail.
